Arm Clinic

arm clinicWe started Arm Clinic as one way to improve arm recovery. Research has shown that a lot of practice of meaningful activities helps to drive improvements. So therapists often give patients exercises to do at home, but we are aware that patients may find these difficult to do. So we had a think about ways we could increase the amount of therapy people receive, without increasing the cost to patients. So Arm Clinic is a session where you get two hours of therapy for the price of one!

How Arm Clinic Works

DSC00720Each person has a programme to follow, which includes arm exercises and activities that are relevant and challenging for your individual abilities. Some of the activities are done with other participants, but most are done individually. There is usually one therapist for every two to three participants. The therapist spends time with each person in turn to progress or change the activity.

Most people enjoy the opportunity of working alongside other patients, who can offer support, encouragement as well as a healthy dose of competition! You will also have the opportunity to work with different therapists, who may have fresh ideas. And most importantly, you get double the amount of therapy for the price of one session.

Who Should Attend

Anyone who wishes to improve the movement and function of one or both arms is a suitable candidate for Arm Clinic.

Arm Clinic runs every Thursday from 12.30-2.30pm. Bookings can be made by contacting the clinic. New clients will need to book in for an assessment with one of our therapists, who will assess your needs and then set a suitable Arm Clinic programme. Progress can also be reviewed at any time, by booking in for an individual session with one of our therapists.
