Michelle is a registered nurse with 19 years of clinical experience focused on neurological nursing. She graduated from the Auckland University of Technology in 2004 with a Bachelor of Nursing, having earlier completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Massey University.
While she was training, her interest was sparked by two placements in neurology at Auckland Hospital. She has had a fulfilling and varied career over the 19 years since in neurosurgical nursing including senior roles with responsibility for optimising patient care.
In her spare time, Michelle mixes her passion for rehabilitation, and improving health and well-being, with a passion for horses, by volunteering with Riding for the Disabled, an amazing charity that uses interaction with horses to improve the health and wellbeing of people experiencing disability.
